About

What is Kirke Labs?

Kirke Labs is a systems engineering firm building high-reliability software for the next generation of finance and digital ownership. We replace manual middle-office processes with self-executing, audit-ready systems on Algorand.

What does Kirke Labs build?

We engineer programmable ledgers, automated audit trails, and decision-support tooling for institutions and operators handling high-value assets. Our work spans three areas:

  • Digital ownership layers. Secure, programmable ledgers handling automated participation, audit trails, and complex distribution logic.
  • AI-driven insights. Custom analytics layers that transform raw network data into decision-grade intelligence for asset operators.
  • Systems modeling. Rigorous architectural mapping of economic actors and constraints to ensure stability under stress.

What is Kirke Labs building now?

The settlement problem is solved: with x402 now live on Algorand, an AI agent can pay autonomously, instantly, for a fraction of a cent. The unsolved problem is governance, and that is where we build.

Open Agent Access is our open-source control layer for consequential agents. Each agent presents a passport (identity, purpose, intended use); a published, machine-readable policy returns a clear decision (allow, deny, or charge); paid actions settle over x402 on Algorand; and every action returns a hash-chained receipt. You can step through it live in Agent City.

We build the way we recommend. We run our own agent-readiness and AI-legibility scanners against this site and ship every fix in the open, taking our agent-readiness score from 29 into the 70s and climbing.

Who runs Kirke Labs?

Kirke Labs was founded by Steve Kirton (Founder & CEO) with Soleman El Gelawi as CTO. See the team page for full bios and external profiles.

Where has Kirke Labs deployed?

  • Casalotto. Transparent crowdfunding and distribution. An immutable fundraising platform using digital assets for global prize draws, bridging on-chain transparency with traditional legal property notary processes. Casalotto placed in the top 10 of the 2025 Algorand Startup Challenge.
  • Atelier OpenLedger (flagship build, in active development). Blockchain-verified charitable procurement engineered MiCA- and PSD2-compliant: proof is recorded on Algorand while funds remain in the charity’s own regulated bank account. The regulatory rigour is set out in our Atelier OpenLedger v5.2 whitepaper (request access).
  • The Marketing Machine. Agentic distribution infrastructure for marketing teams operating on Algorand. Developed in the context of the alliance.xyz accelerator program.
  • Agent-Readiness Toolkit. Two open-source CLIs for the agentic web: agent-readiness-scan scores whether AI agents can act on your site, and ai-legibility-scan scores how readable you are to LLMs. We run them on our own site and ship the fixes in the open.

What recognition has Kirke Labs earned?

Casalotto placed in the top 10 of the 2025 Algorand Startup Challenge. Kirke Labs runs live deployments on Algorand and publishes open-source AI-legibility tooling. Aurelius Finance (asset-backed finance) remains on the roadmap, pending regulatory clarity.
